4S Session Border Controller (SBC)/NAT filter

The 4S SBC enables non-NAT aware devices to operate in private networks and behind firewalls. The NAT filter operates on a public IP address and is addressed as outbound proxy.

The operator version also offers recording capabilities. Through a separate management interface, operators can define numbers that are silently recorded. The filter records the voice parts of the conversation in highly compressed audio format.

The operation of the filter is similar to a session border controller. However, the
functionality of the 4S SBC goes beyond the functionality of standard session border controllers because the SBC does not control sessions and is not on the border of a call. This results in much better scalability than other SBC products.

In addition, the 4S NAT filter does not interfere with unknown applications. This is a tremendous advantage over session border controllers which need software update for new applications.
